Culture By Design Co. was created from a simple belief. When people feel connected, supported and valued, organisations thrive. We work alongside teams and leaders to intentionally build stronger relationships, meaningful connections and cultures designed to last.
Our Story
Culture By Design Co. grew from years of working within vastly different teams and seeing first-hand the impact that culture can have on the people within them.
Across different environments, one thing became increasingly clear, the strongest teams didn't leave their culture to chance. They were intentional about how people connected, communicated, and supported one another working towards a common goal.
It was also clear that culture isn't created through one big initiative. It's built in the everyday moments, the conversations people have, the way leaders show up, and whether people genuinely feel valued and connected to those around them.
Culture By Design Co. was created from that belief. To help organisations be more intentional about the culture they're building and give their people the tools, experiences and opportunities to build it together.
Meet Nathan
For Nathan, culture has always been about more than the workplace, it's about belonging, identity and being part of something together.
Throughout his career, Nathan has been drawn to understanding people, building genuine connections and creating environments where individuals feel valued as part of a team. Beginning in education and care management, he developed experience across business operations, administration and team leadership. But it was the people around him and the dynamics of the team that continued to capture his interest.
A lifelong passion for sport led Nathan to study a Dual Diploma in Sport and Leadership & Management with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. Across 2025 and 2026, he gained first-hand experience within an elite sporting organisation, contributing to initiatives aligned with the club’s goals and objectives. Being immersed in a professional sporting environment gave him the opportunity to experience something he had always valued in sport. That is, people with different strengths, roles and personalities coming together under one identity and working towards a common goal.
What stood out most, however, was how closely this translated beyond sport. Whether it's a rugby league club, an education service or any other organisation, great teams share many of the same foundations. That being connection, trust, leadership and a genuine sense of belonging.
Nathan brought those lessons back into his own workplace, moving into leadership and well-being roles, becoming increasingly intentional about the culture his team experienced. He developed workshops, programs and initiatives designed to strengthen connection, support well-being and bring people together.
And it worked.
Seeing the response from his own team, as well as the impact that intentionally investing in culture could have, it planted the seed for Culture By Design Co.
Today, Nathan brings together his experience in education, leadership, sport and team development with one simple goal…
To help organisations create workplaces where people genuinely want to be, and with a culture they're proud to belong to.
